My visit to the Louvre Abu Dhabi today was truly unforgettable, offering a perfect blend of art, culture, and architectural brilliance. From the moment I entered, the museum’s serene ambience and striking design by Jean Nouvel created an immediate sense of awe. The iconic dome, with its intricate “rain of light” effect, set the tone for an immersive and inspiring experience. The galleries were thoughtfully curated, guiding me through a journey of human creativity across civilizations and centuries. Each section flowed seamlessly into the next, showcasing masterpieces from different cultures side by side—beautifully highlighting the universal connections in art and history. I particularly appreciated how the museum presents global stories in a way that feels cohesive and accessible, encouraging visitors to reflect on the shared heritage of humanity. The displays were accompanied by clear, engaging explanations, making the experience informative without feeling overwhelming. Standout pieces such as the ancient sculptures, Renaissance paintings, and modern artworks were presented with exceptional lighting and spacing, allowing me to absorb every detail comfortably. The temporary exhibition was also a delightful surprise, offering fresh perspectives and adding great depth to the visit. Beyond the artworks, the outdoor walkways overlooking the sea were a highlight on their own. The interplay of natural light, water, and architecture created a peaceful atmosphere that made me want to linger longer. The staff were courteous and helpful, further enhancing the overall experience. Louvre Abu Dhabi is not just a museum—it is a place where art, history, and innovation meet. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a meaningful and enriching cultural experience in the UAE. It is truly a must-visit landmark.

Very beautiful museum and one of the highlights of Abu Dhabi. Opened in November 2017, it is the first museum of its kind in the Arab world, created through a cultural partnership between France and the UAE. Its mission is to showcase the shared story of human creativity across civilizations, highlighting how cultures have always interacted, connected, and influenced one another. Designed by the renowned architect Jean Nouvel, the museum is famous for its spectacular silver dome, inspired by the traditional Arabian mashrabiyya. The dome weighs around 7,500 tons and Its intricate geometric pattern creates a stunning “rain of light” effect as sunlight filters through the lattice. The building appears to float on water, blending modern engineering with cultural symbolism. Louvre Abu Dhabi departs from the traditional separation of cultures. Instead, it presents world history through themes, displaying pieces from different civilizations side-by-side to highlight shared human experiences. Examples: - Ancient Egyptian statues next to early Greek artworks. - Chinese ceramics displayed with Middle Eastern pottery. - Religious manuscripts from Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and Buddhism shown together. The museum features: - Permanent galleries with artworks spanning thousands of years, from prehistoric tools to modern masterpieces. - Rotating international exhibitions in collaboration with French museums, including the Louvre, Musée d’Orsay, Centre Pompidou, and others. - Over 600 permanent artworks, supplemented by hundreds of loans from French institutions. It was overall a very nice, entertaining and educational time spent here.

Absolutely splendid, the journey was beyond my expectations. We start with the tickets. Very affordable, you can get a discount simply by being a UAE resident. You still have the Fazaa discount as well. The museum itself is a piece of art, the architechture is mind-blowing, you could admire it for hours. I know that Louvre love to make wonderful architectures for their museums, with the one in Paris that i visited few yeras back, but this one in AUH is really eye-catching. The galleries were fascinating, from prehistoric stones, to the modern arts i really enjoyed it. To all art enthusiasts, i would really recommend to check it out, you will not forget that experience.

Our second visit, first was in 2019. It is a wonderful place both inside and out. We bought tickets online a few weeks before as public transport to here seems to be non existent so you need a taxi. Rates are very reasonable, the 15 minute ride from our hotel on The Corniche only cost about £6. There was no queue, our ticket was scanned and we walked straight in, it is not a timed ticket so valid for the day you purchased. No large bags allowed but free locker rooms available. It is so spacious inside it never feels crowded. Lovely gift shop at end before you leave. This is one of the most iconic buildings in the world in my opinion not to be missed.

Impressive architecture at Saadiyat Island and being an icon there. Exhibits display has been very different than Louvre Paris, but it has been too long ago I went Louvre in Paris. The exhibits here is more of sculptures or some historic artifacts about currency used thousands of years ago. It wasn’t divided by region but a comparison of same or similar artifacts in different countries, seems more of Asia comparison. I didn’t pay attention or did any research of the theme about Louvre AD, which was going with clients. Still a must see there, interesting though.

What an incredible experience. I was in awe of every room. Seeing artefacts from as long as 8000 years ago was incredible. A must visit in Abu Dhabi.

The Louvre Abu Dhabi was sensational! I did the express tour for an overview and then the virtual reality add-on. I walked around the outside and had dinner at the rooftop restaurant. The Louvre in Abu Dhabi is more than a museum, it is is a destination!
